Kevin, Juliet, Greg C., Barb, Greg M., Rick and three others attended our cybersecurity seminar.

On Wednesday, October 17, nine representatives from our managed services client companies met in our office for a cybersecurity seminar. These business owners and managers wanted to learn how to best protect their business computer networks against cybercrime.

During the session, Tavis presented the major cybersecurity threats to small and medium-sized businesses. In addition, he broke down several ways that cybercriminals target businesses, how phishing works, and several other cybersecurity concerns. Another point stressed the importance of setting business policies to protect important data.

One of the favorite segments of the workshop was “15 Ways to Protect Your Business.” Juliet Shrader, owner of iVantage Group, said, “I appreciated learning the simple day-to-day activities that could cause trouble, like leaving a USB on my desk.”

Rick Amatucci, purchasing manager at Dunnage Engineering, found that learning “the types of threats that companies face on a daily basis” was the most useful and valuable information of the session.

We’re planning to re-run this cybersecurity seminar during the first quarter of 2019. If you’re interested, please watch our email newsletter for more information as we get closer.

In the meantime, if you’d like us to present this session at your site as a staff training or “Lunch & Learn,” just fill out the contact form on the right. Tavis or Matt will contact you to set up a day and time.
